So. The non alcoholic mimosa recipe has been one of my most popular posts for a few years now…but I realized I’ve never actually done a mimosa recipe for adults. I don’t know why. We love them as a treat on holiday mornings, or for brunches and bridal showers (and baby showers — the mama-to-be can have the aforementioned non alcoholic version and other people can spike theirs). They’re a simple drink, but they give things a fancy little touch (is it the champagne? The fancy glasses? Yes and yes.)
Also here’s where we find out whether we’re kindred spirits. Because I’m about to confess — I don’t usually use actual champagne. Sparkling wine is cheaper, and I frankly can’t tell the difference. I know…I know there are people out there who can and by all means go for the champagne if it means that much to you. But I like the sparkling wine just as well. At least try it and see what you think.
- 1 part champagne or sparkling wine
- 1 park orange juice
- frozen berries (optional)
- Pour orange juice into a champagne glass until glass is half full (or half empty?). Fill the rest of the way with champagne or sparkling wine.
- If you'd like, add frozen berries to serve as ice cubes and to add a little flavor and color to your drink.
