Sweater Knitting

Me: “Alexis, let’s take some pictures of the new winter sweater I just finished for you.”

Alexis: (long, drawn out siiiiiiiigh that makes me dread the teenage years ahead) “Can I read while you do it?”

So, without disturbing her reading, here it is.

My favorite part is the gathers on the bodice and sleeves of the Olearia sweater. The pattern comes with lots of variations — I’m thinking matching shrugs to go over the girls’ Easter dresses later this spring. I used Madelinetosh tosh merino yarn I picked up last summer at Jimmy Beans Wool — soft and fun to knit with and warrrrrrm (we didn’t get above freezing here last week and bottomed out around 15 below zero. Oy.)

Sitting under the tree with a good book and a fuzzy sweater? Not a bad way to pass an afternoon.

My ravelry notes are here. And if you need help washing your winter handknits, check out my instructions here.

Thanks for visiting Peace but Not Quiet! I’d love it if you’d take a minute to like me on facebook and follow me on twitter.

I love it!! You did a great job on this one (as always) I might have to get the pattern to make one for Katie. Or re-engineer it to make one for me too…

thanks! I really like all the different variations you can try. A grown-up one would be cute!

Hi, there!

Hi, there!
