My local mall is getting ready for the holidays!
Southwest Plaza, has partnered with Mattel to introduce a new holiday adventure that will be memorable for the entire family. Santa’s Toy Factory will open on November 18 in the center court area of the shopping center.
It’s no secret that I’ve been playing Christmas music for over a week now – I. Am. Ready for the holidays! I love it all – the baking, the singing, the kids’ recitals and concerts (I may ugly cry at every single one), the shopping and bustle, and the stopping to be quiet and still and appreciate the season.
I’m especially excited to participate with Southwest Plaza, because we’ve been watching as the mall has undergone a transformation over the past few years. We’re loving the new restaurants like Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar and Mod Market, the kids have been to Round 1 to play video games (and my fellow book club moms and I may have been in last weekend for a noisy game of pool), and we’ve gotten some great new holiday clothes at Gap, Macy’s, and H&M already this season. I love that they have local vendors in the maker marketplace at the center of the mall – it’s a unique place to find gifts and a great way to support small local businesses.
I’m also excited to partner with Mattel, which makes toys my kids love like Hot Wheels, Thomas and Friends, and Barbie. My son has gotten Hot Wheels cars and tracks for several of his last few birthdays and Christmases, so he’s pretty excited, and my younger daughter loves dolls and dress-up and can’t wait for the You Can Be Anything Barbie event.
Here’s a bit more about Santa’s Toy Factory:
Santa’s Toy Factory is designed to empower creativity through an interactive, immersive experience to meet Santa. Within the 1,600 square-foot space, young guests will have the opportunity to “test” new toys in Santa’s Factory before they get delivered to all the boys and girls on Christmas morning. After they “test” the toys, they visit different stations to digitally design, build and paint toys from Mattel’s iconic brands including Barbie®, Hot Wheels®, and Thomas & Friends™. The grand finale, of course, will be meeting Santa himself for photos and to share their holiday wish list.
“We are proud to be partnering with Mattel to bring this new, one-of-a-kind holiday concept to life,” said Greg Sims, general manager of Southwest Plaza. “We are always looking for ways to introduce new brands and experiences to our community and can’t wait to showcase Santa’s Toy Factory this holiday season. We know our guests will embrace it.”
The experience with Santa’s Toy Factory is free-of-charge and photo packages begin at $39.99. To make reservations to ensure quicker access, please click HERE. Southwest Plaza is located at 8501 West Bowles Ave and is home to a plethora of high-quality tenants including H&M, Francesca’s & Forever 21.
