I do love family road trips. The singing. The bizarre story-telling and joke-telling. Even the bickering. It all makes for great memories.
When we travel as a family now, we pretty much only go by car. There are enough of us that we’d not only have to buy six plane tickets (!!?!), but rent a car because no one we visit has a vehicle big enough. And, I can’t explain it, but the thought of traveling by plane for two hours with loud children stresses me out way more than the thought of being trapped in a van for 20 hours with the same kids. At least then, my husband and I are the only witnesses to the chaos.
So. Nothing like a good road trip for some family bonding and connecting with each other. Here are a few tips for taking one without losing your sanity.
