I can’t believe we’re already here.
I’m pretty sure every parent is saying this, or something similar to this, this week. But it feels like we just started summer and now school’s starting again. My kids actually go back next week, and we have done zero back to school shopping because I’m deep, deep in denial right now.
Everything will come together, though. It always does. And while I haven’t done much as far as prep yet, the night before I will get everyone’s lunches together and backpacks organized and clothes set out to make things easier in the morning.
My younger kids also love lunch notes, so I’ll have some to tuck in their lunch boxes for them to discover when they eat.
Here’s my advice on using printable lunch notes — or any lunch notes! I always start out strong, sending notes with the kids every day. But life gets busy and I end up forgetting to get them ready. So I’d print out several copies at once, cut them all out, write on them (even if it’s just “Love, Mom”), and save a whole stack of them to put in lunches as you need them. You don’t love your kids any less just because you wrote their notes in bulk. You could even do an entire month’s worth of printable lunch notes this afternoon!
