The kids are back to school today, which is, I guess, the first sign that summer is ending. Sigh.
I always get to this point and realize we haven’t done half the things I’d planned and we stayed home more than I thought and probably everyone spent too much time in front of a screen…does everyone get like this? Are the rest of you out there teaching your kids to knit and farm and speak French over the summer? Oh, I hope not.
We did spend a few weeks at Lake Tahoe, swimming and kayaking and paddleboarding and hiking. And we toured around here with my family (if you’re a Denver local, go to the Chihuly exhibit at the Botanic Gardens right now. I’ll wait.)
We’re also trying to eat a little healthier around here, and I finally made the perfect pot of brown rice. Mine always came out crunchy…but this time it was so good I was high-fiving the kids and singing “We Are the Champions.”
And I did a little knitting, of course. Of course! More on that later.
Here are a few activities shared on the facebook page last week…
