Bow ties and hair bows! Maybe it’s spring…maybe it’s the passing of Easter, with kids all dressed up and fancy…I don’t know, but I’m in a bow-making mood.

I love that these can be adapted for boys or girls, depending on the color and the fastener. I put a pin on the back of the boy bow:

and an alligator clip on the girls’:

The bows themselves are pretty straightforward — one wide knit piece, sewn together, and one narrow knit piece, sewn around the first. Bam! You can vary sizes by changing up your needles, yarn, and length of yarn you knit.

The boys’ bow ties are my fave:

Imagine the possibilities! Christmas bow ties…Easter bow ties…ring bearer bow ties…bow ties in every color of the rainbow! I. Can’t. Stand. It.
