So I’m a girl who likes a beer every now and then. But not gross beer. Thoughtful beer. Beer that has “notes” and “undertones” and things like that. Which means I’m especially partial to fall beers, because they tend to have notes of cinnamon or cardamom and pumpkin-y undertones. Yum.
For a list of good fall beers, I went to the experts at one of the largest liquor stores in North America — Tipsy’s Liquor World.
They gave me the following list:
1.) Elysian’s Night Owl (Elysian Brewery, Seattle, WA)
2.) The Bruery’s Autumn Maple (The Bruery, Orange County, CA)
3.) Upslope’s Pumpkin Ale (Upslope Brewery, Boulder, CO)
4.) Tommyknocker’s Pumpkin Ale (Tommyknocker Brewery, Idaho Springs, CO)
5.) New Belgium’s Pumpkick (New Belgium Brewery, Ft. Collins, CO)
I’m especially curious to try the Pumpkick, which has a bit of cranberry juice mixed in. And the New Belgium website has a recipe for a Pumpkin Loaf with Pumpkick Glaze that sounds pretty tasty.
