Halloween Drinks for Kids

October 30, 2015 By Laura 34 Comments

Recipes for fun, tasty Halloween drinks for kids

Kid-friendly Halloween parties are the best. There are so many opportunities to be creative — with crafts, and games, and food, and Halloween drinks, and (of course!) costumes. I myself am a huge scaredy-cat…so I don’t really do scary parties or horror movies or…y’know… anything that’s going to give me bad dreams (which is everything. Honestly. It’s ridiculous.) But a good, fun party with Halloween drinks for kids and adults with a cute theme and a viewing of The Great Pumpkin? Totally up my alley.

These three non-alcoholic Halloween drinks don’t require a lot of ingredients, are easy to put together, and are sure to be loved by kids and adults! For extra fun, grab some stripey straws in Halloween colors to add to the decor.

1.) The Halloween Crush

This is a simple drink in classic orange and black colors that jive with the whole Halloween theme!

Ingredients:

Orange soda

Frozen blackberries

Instructions: Chill soda ahead of time. Fill glasses and top with frozen blackberries. They’ll work like ice cubes to keep the drinks cool…but can be eaten when the drink is finished.

2.) Butterbeer

My kids and I have looked around, and there are as many recipes for butterbeer as there are people who love the books that introduced us to it! Some people make it hot, like a cider. We concocted this drink, which includes ice cream, so…obviously it’s our favorite version.

Ingredients:

Vanilla ice cream

club soda

butterscotch sauce

Directions: Pour some butterscotch sauce into the bottom of your mug (butterbeer just seems like it should be in a mug, doesn’t it?). Add two scoops of ice cream. Drizzle more butterscotch. Fill with club soda. **This makes enough for one adult, but I’d split it into two smaller mugs for kids.** Recipes for fun, tasty Halloween drinks for kids

3.) Magic Apple Potion

This drink is a fun green color. I wanted to call it The Poisoned Apple, but my husband said that I shouldn’t be serving anything to people with the word “poison” in it… so I settled on this title instead.

Ingredients:

Sour Apple Cocktail Mix (found near other cocktail mixes like grenadine)

Lemon-Lime soda

Instructions: Fill a small water glass with ice. Add 3 Tb of the sour apple cocktail mix. Top with lemon-lime soda (about 1 c). Top with a fun straw and serve. **Again, this makes enough for one adult or two kids**

So. I don’t think I need to tell you that we don’t have treats like this every day…but on special days like Halloween, I think it’s okay to have a few sugary things to eat and drink. All in moderation, you know. And we make sure everyone brushes well and takes care of their teeth — not just on special days, but every day.

Aquafresh® toothpaste is here to help! Their Sugar Acid Protection from fluoride makes mouths feel fresh and protects teeth from sugar acids caused by eating everyday foods containing sugar. And their Cavity Protection protects teeth from…well, cavities. So regardless of how tired we are at the end of a fun night, we make sure to protect and brush our teeth before bed! For more tips, be sure to follow Aquafresh® on Facebook and twitter as well.

So what’s your favorite way to take care of your teeth this Halloween? Tell me in the comments for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.

I’ll take care of my teeth by bushing and flossing as usual unless I eat sticky candy, then I will put in some extra effort.

I take care of my teeth during halloween by not eating the candy. I am glad i don’t have a sweet tooth and the candy does not appeal to me much.

I love the Halloween Crush drink. It is really pretty and I need to have this drink for Halloween. We take care of our teeth by brushing and flossing twice a day and limiting the candy to a few pieces a day. And we always brush our teeth after eating candy.
