People are always surprised when they discover we have two dogs.
We already have four kids. Adding two dogs into the mix does increase the chaos a bit around here. But on the other hand, the kids love playing with them. And as a lot of dog owners will tell you, we didn’t exactly choose these dogs. They chose us.
We got our first dog Stewart about a week after we moved out of an apartment into a house. My husband couldn’t wait. So we went to the pound, and this sweet brown doggy stuck his paw through the bars at me and that was it. He came home with us and spent the next few weeks chewing up all our shoes and books and making small nests around the house with weird things like hats and trash and a rubber duck.
Our second dog Ody belonged to some friends who weren’t able to keep him. He came to live with us about a year ago, and fit right into the family. He gets along quite well with his older “brother” — and when he stole my birthday tri-tip steak and ran into the yard to eat the entire thing, he made sure to share it with Stewart.
He’s also very good at wake-up calls. He’s exactly the right height to just baaarely get his nose over the edge of the bed, stick it in your sleeping face, and get in a nice big lick to wake unsuspecting sleepers.
Rachael Ray Nutrish knows our pets do these things. They chew stuff and steal our food and slobber on us and we love them anyway.
So they have a way for you to remember the quirky things your pet has done. A meme generator. I just made my first meme.
This might be a new thing for me — meme-making. I like it.
And if you make one, you could win a year’s supply of Nutrish and $1500. We tried Nutrish, and the dogs love it. Every Rachael Ray Nutrish recipe is made with simple ingredients I can actually pronounce — things like real meat and veggies. And a portion of Rachael’s personal proceeds go to Rachael’s Rescue to help animals in need.
So. To make your own meme (you know you want to), upload a picture of your pet to the “Fur Real Pet Moments” meme generator, pick a caption, and share their shenanigans on social media.
It’s also a lot of fun to check out the gallery and see what everyone else has contributed.
