This is a quick, easy sewing project for a child just learning to sew (or…you know…me.) It’s great because it doesn’t require precise sewing or measuring…just a fun, creative project to get the feel of a needle and thread.
You’ll need one square of green felt, embroidery thread, assorted buttons and a small amount of Poly-Fil stuffing.
Begin by cutting two simple tree shapes — a front and back. Sew buttons to one side of the tree.
When you have all your buttons on, whip stitch the two trees together until you get about 3/4 of the way around.
This will leave you a small hole so you can stuff your ornament. Add a little stuffing and sew the rest of the way closed. Glue or sew a thin ribbon loop on the back and hang!
