I made a mini cake stand the other day. It was a super simple project that took me…oh, about five minutes, including the time it took to wash the dishes before I started.
I found a salad plate and candlestick holder at the thrift store last time I was there. And then it was just a matter of gluing them together. I like Quick Grip, but any glue that works with glass is good.
I will caution you that with colored glass plates, you can see the glue through the bottom of the plate. It didn’t bother me, because I put food on top of it, but if it’s going to bug you, go with a plate you can’t see through.
It’s a small plate, so I’d put things like petits fours or bon bons on it to serve at a tea. Or you could put a pillar candle or two there for decoration. The supplies were cheap enough that you could even make a bunch for a shower or something, serve mini bundt cakes on them and let everyone take theirs home.
