Thanks to Hickory Farms for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
As a somewhat chaotic family of six, I’ve learned not to lean too hard on tradition. We may do something one Christmas…or even two or three…and then suddenly the next year, it doesn’t happen. This year, especially, was a challenge. I was out of town at the beginning of the month. Every. Single. Person. In this family got horribly sick over the course of a week and a half in the middle of the month. Many of the things we traditionally do in December just didn’t get done this year. And that’s ok. I love our traditions, but I’m working on letting them go for a year or so if they just don’t work.
We do have a few traditions we’ve managed to hang onto every year so far, though. The kids always open one present on Christmas Eve. It’s usually pjs, or slippers, or something sleep-related that they can wear into the next morning while opening their presents. And we always pick a few charities to give to.
Hickory Farms works with several charities as well. They are proud to support No Kid Hungry®, working to end childhood hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need every day. Hickory Farms has contributed more than $4 million to No Kid Hungry since 2008. For every Signature Party Planner purchased this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to No Kid Hungry.
