Chai lattes happening up in here!
Like, CONSTANTLY. Despite the desperate pleas of my children, usually they have to WALK HOME from school because I refuse to pick them up because when I was their age I walked home uphill both ways carting a French horn of all things and why are they so complainy about all this? Why? Whyyyyyyy?
So when they get here, we make this chai latte recipe and they perk up a bit. It’s brisk out, and a nice, piping cup of chai makes everything all better and maybe we even get ten minutes here without anyone actually complaining. Maybe.
I get our chai from lots of different places. Sometimes we use those pre-mixed liquid containers of it. Sometimes we get the powder stuff from Trader Joe’s. But the best by far is when we use our own chai latte recipe and mix some up here. It’s handy having your own mix around. Use it to make lattes to drink. Toss it in your pancake or waffle mix. Add a little to some hot chocolate. Make up a Banana Chai Smoothie. Those are all excellent ways to use your chai latte mix and you will not be even a little bit sorry about it.
I’ve adapted this chai latte recipe from one at The Kitchen is My Playground, adding some more spices and things. Just use the mix, add a little hot water, and boom! Done.
