Best Recipes of 2013

Hello! I hope you’ve had a lovely start to your new year. Ours has been uneventful, but good. Honestly, now that the kids are getting older and more involved in activities and things, our December was packed with concerts and holiday-related events. I loved them all. But since our school break began, just before Christmas, we’ve been taking it easy and hibernating a little and man, we needed that.

So before we move on to all new stuff, I wanted to take one last look back — at some of the best recipes of 2013 here on the blog.

Last winter, I shared our recipe for White Chicken Chili (still a family favorite, and a great one to throw in the Crock-Pot and let go all day.)

During Girl Scout Cookie season, I baked Tagalong Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Save this one — cookie sales start again soon!

We also tried Chocolate Caramel Corn as an after-school treat.

Over the summer, I used my cilantro from the garden in this Garlicky Cilantro Lime Dressing — great for salads, dips, or topping your eggs. And I made Sweet Peach Lemonade as a delicious drink.

Ah, yes. Speaking of drinks. I spent this fall coming up with 31 Days of Festive Fall Drinks (though most of them are warm and toasty and all of them are perfect for winter as well. Try one.)

And in case you have any ridiculous notions that I sit in my perfect house baking perfect food for my perfect children...this will make you feel better.

Thank you for visiting Peace but Not Quiet! And thank you for making 2013 such a fun year. I love hearing from you and sharing this crazy journey together. And I’d love it if you’d keep in touch through facebook and twitter.

Hi, there!

Hi, there!

Welcome! I'm Laura -- a mom of four kids aged thirteen and under. I run occasionally and love really bad puns.
