We’re almost done with our Christmas craftiness. The kids are out of school starting today, I’m closing in on Christmas presents, and if it ain’t done by now, it ain’t getting done this year. But we did have a Brownie meeting after school yesterday, where we made an angel craft.

I had something more complicated in mind — involving pinecones and small wooden balls for heads and moss for hair and…then I found these at Hobby Lobby:

and I remembered that when we tried to teach all 18 girls to sew these trees last year I made my co-leader cry (the trees are a great project. But 18 kids at once was over-reaching), and I decided to simplify and I bought the wooden people. I cut the heart-wings out of some stiff, sparkly felt:

and made the halos out of a floral pick. I snipped them in half and we easily got 14 halos from one pick.

We glued everything on and added the face with markers — easy peasy!

No one even cried while making these — including the grown-ups.
