That right there is the inside of In-Tea. It’s a cozy little tea shop in the midst of cozy downtown Littleton (just southwest of Denver) and if you ever get a chance to go to either place you absolutely must. Especially around the holidays.
I mean, come on. Look at it.
So In-Tea is my happy place where I love to pop in for a cuppa…and where they have Teddy Bear Tea Parties every Tuesday morning for the kids that are the most adorable thing ever. And where I once walked in, headed to the counter and wailed, “I’m sick…and I’m pregnant…and I need something to make me feel better!” and the first thing they all said was, “Oh, you poor thing!” and I immediately felt better. Then they fixed me up a pot of Wild Cherry Tea which I swear to you is the cure for the common cold and I wanted to cry I was so happy.
And today — Carole Alvarez, the owner and Chief Cold Curer, is allowing me to share one of her cocktail recipes. Because, oh yes, they also make tea cocktails there.
The Holiday Cheer:
3 Tb Christmas blend herbal tea, brewed in 6 oz of water (about 1 c)
1.5 oz Spiced Rum (about 3 Tb)
3 pumps Monin Honey syrup
Brew tea. Add rum and syrup and stir (I didn’t have the honey syrup so I used 2 tsp real honey when I made it at home and it was quite tasty.)
