Make Mom breakfast in bed…or just a nice breakfast at the table after she gets up!
-Eggy in the Middle: Always a fun one for kids to help make!
A Gentle Suggestion: make sure you know your mother. Some of us love to get cookbooks for Mother’s Day, some of us will chuck them at you and demand you not imply we should be working.
-Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist
-The Mom Quilt: Over 60 bloggers (including me — no stop, I’m blushing) contributed to make this book, each sharing a special story from her heart about life as mom. And bonus — all proceeds from book sales go to benefit The Mercy House in Kenya.
-Happy You, Happy Family by Kelly Holmes: A book that gives you tips to finding happiness in the chaos of parenting.
-Pride & Prejudice (the BBC miniseries…you know, the good one): Or, instead of reading, cheat and watch the miniseries. In this case, every bit as good as the book and by far the best adaptation of it forever and ever Amen.
-Soybu Killer Caboose Performance Yoga Pants: I tried for a long time not to be a mom who wore yoga pants but didn’t do yoga. But these make your legs look miles long and they really do make your caboose look killer, if I do say so.
-Marathon Wireless Headphones: I have these and I love them! I wear them running, or to listen to podcasts while I clean or garden. Great headphones that don’t fall off when you run.
I hope one of these ideas sounds like something your mom (or you! You’re allowed to spoil yourself, too, you know…) would like. And most of all — happy Mother’s Day!
