I love a good handmade Valentine’s Day card. We don’t go crazy here for Valentine’s Day, but we try to have a nice dinner and a very small treat for each person and probably something chocolatey for dessert. Yes. Definitely something chocolatey.
We’re selective about who we make our handmade cards for — we don’t make them for an entire classroom or anything. We know our limits. But we make them for friends and family and try to keep it all fun with no pressure.
So here are some great ideas to make your own valentines with kids of all ages.

From embroidery and sewing to mapping and scrapbooking, there’s something in there for every crafty person!
Make cards that light up or reveal secret messages! Combine science with cards that say “I love you.”
For kids who don’t want mushy hearts and flowers — ninjas and Star Wars characters for the win!
