I first published this Banana Berry Smoothie recipe about a year and a half ago during our 5 Days of No-Cereal Breakfast Challenge. I’d gotten into a rut, slapping some cereal and milk in front of the kids each morning, and I decided we needed to try a week of not doing that. And so — one of the days we had smoothies. In this house they’re a great fallback for kids who refuse to eat enough fruit.
Because it was summer at the time, I had some fruit in there that we can’t get fresh in Colorado right now. It’s easy to sub in other fruits, or buy frozen (I actually found a big sale on frozen fruit about a week ago so I have quite a stash right now.)
Aw, man. That kid is so much bigger now. Oddly, enough — still just as messy, though.
And because I know how proud he is, I’m going to share a pic of the blender my husband bought for our smoothie-making:
Yep. That thing’s sitting on my counter. Sorry the colors look all blown out. I think that avocado green broke my camera.
- 2 bananas
- 1 c orange juice
- 1 c plain yogurt
- 1/2 c frozen blackberries
- 2 peaches
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.
